How do we use your location?
Knowing your location helps us recommend plants that will thrive in your climate, based on your Growing Zone.
Yellow Flowering Texas Red Yucca (Hesperaloe parviflora Yellow) has butter-yellow flowers. This rare form of Texas Yucca is a delight in the garden and is especially true when used as a companion plant for other red ('Straight Up Red') and coral ('Coral Glow') selections. A medium sized grower, the flower spikes are well filled out and long blooming as the plants set very few seeds and continue to bloom through the summer months. This plant grows well in a wide range of soils and thrives with plenty of heat and sun. Will often take 2 to 3 years to reach blooming size. So be patient and protect it from deer who love to eat the succulent leaves. This is an excellent companion plant for many Beardtongues (Penstemon), Catmints (Nepeta) and other cold hardy succulents like Sotol (Dasylirion) and Beargrass (Nolina).

"I'm concerned that two of these may not make it. They were small and not really healthy looking when they arrived, but still had a little green on them. . We followed the directions exactly. Crossing our fingers😊"
"After reading the reviews I just have to add…be patient. This tiny plant that I received from HCG years ago is phenomenal! It took a couple of years to really take off but it's gorgeous and healthy and everyone comments. It's so vigorous that I've had to divide it many times. It blooms like crazy and has survived every weather event that Texas has thrown at it. Our house stands out because of this tiny sad plant that is the highlight of our garden now!"
"I put this in the back corner of my xeriscape garden to go along with my other yuccas."
"I had the coral colored ones and wanted yellow too. Planted along side of house and in patio area. Very heat tolerant and suprisingly tolerant to colder temps. These I ordered were in excellent shape with nice root system! I am very impressed with High Country Gardens!"
