Beautiful though watch out for aggressive lamium

"I planted these in tree shade and all grew though the lamium (in the mint family) crowded the other plants after a year. Be ready to trim it back, especially if the lamium is with other young plants in the bed."

Pictures show mature plants. . . here's what I received . . . .

"This was my first order from High Country and as a master gardener intern (completed the program and am now in the practicum phase of volunteering), I was happy to find shade plants that were not available locally. My humble opinion ion is High Garden works best when you do not have access to certain plants locally. To my surprise the 5"" refers to the depth of the very small containers - not the diameter of each potted plant. These plants are tiny. They are all so small - these are 5 inches deep but two inch by two square containers. They did arrive very healthy, with some already flowering. These ship early, and if you are in a zone that doesn't warm up until May, my humble option is to order so that you can plant these within one week of receiving them. I was lulled into ordering them early (due to the sale price) and then we had snow the first week in May so I planted two weeks after receiving the plants and the roots had already started to wrap around the insides of the container - not ideal. The plants will take time to grow, so consider adding a few extra plants to fill in around these plants or your area will look quite anemic the first season. I am hopeful these will survive our winter and flourish next year, as they look so small this year even though they are blooming. I ordered butterfly bushes and yarrow for sunny areas and they too are really small plants that will not really look so great until next season. It wasn't until we had our local garden fair that I realized how immature and small (and expensive) the plants from High Gardens are compared to what I am able to buy locally. My humble opinion is High country should include photos of what you actually receive - not a mature garden. A bonus would be to include what these are supposed to look like newly planted."

Excellent Quality Products & Seeds

"Great company with excellent reading material understandable to a beginner."

All the plants growing! and blooming already!

"I had these installed when having some landscaping redone in the backyard. I had to put a small fence around them to keep the dogs from digging them up--which they did at first. Hoping to take the fence down once they establish a little more, which I also hope will help them withstand the summer heat. So far, so good, and they are already blooming and growing."

Great for shade

"I used these to cover a fairly large shade area in my front yard - They are currently growing quite well and thriving where other plants I have tried failed."

Excellent for under trees

"Plants all arrived healthy and are doing well in my garden. I have ordered plans from other companies and the ones from High Country Garden have been of the best quality by far. I will absolutely be ordering from them again when I am ready to get rid of my lawn."

Love the plants

"The plants arrived very healthy and even though due to heavy rains we couldn't plant them for a week they took right off and look great."

Under a tree

"I was on the High Country Garden site because of my interest in the Dog Tuff grass and noticed the preplanned gardens they offer. As a new gardener with a challenging space I thought I'd try this collection in an area where grass hasn't done well under a tree. OMG the Orchid Frost just took off and is already blooming - I love looking out my window at this grouping. The Black Scallop is very showy but slower growing. Very happy with this purchse"
