Poor packing and small plants with almost no roots

"I just received this collection after ordering it in May. I have ordered from High Country Gardens before and bought many plants from the Waterwise gardens in Santa Fe over the years until they closed. Normally packaging is very good. Not this time. The bear grass, yucca and mahogany were buried in loose soil with almost no soil covering their roots. The mahogany and bear grass have almost no roots and are the tiniest of tiny plants. They were both covered with loose soil with most of the, I assume, soil intended for them on the outside of the plastic bag they put the plants into for shipping. The little mahogany dumped into my hand as I gently unpacked it and its golf ball sized rootball was barely bigger than the 1” plant. I had a pot with soil next to me where I have put this plant for the moment. The bear grass looks like the sedge weeds I have been pulling this spring with almost no roots and thin, flaccid leaves. Is it really a bear grass? I honestly don’t know. The salvia and the ice plants were what I expected, well rooted and well packed but the rest, well, ugh. I will do my best to get these plants to the stage they should have been in before they were shipped but for the price I should not have to do the nursery’s job."
