Our O’Keeffe-Inspired Calla Lily Mix brings appreciation for the unique, sculptural forms of these beautiful flowers that so inspired artist Georgia O’Keeffe. Plant them together for a rainbow of color, individually, or in groupings as desired. On average, you will get about 10 flowers from one bulb. Pollinator friendly and great cut flowers too.

Description

Easy-care and colorful, our O’Keeffe-Inspired Calla Lily Mix will light up your garden in elegant color. Calla Lily 'Snowboard' in classic pure white was likely inspiration for O’Keeffe’s famous paintings of Calla Lilies. Calla Lily ‘Orange Pitcher’ shines like the sun with a warm yellow glow. A watercolor painting always comes to mind with the beautiful white flowers, washed with soft purple of Calla Lily ‘Da Vinci’ which is an intriguing contrast to Calla Lily ‘Rocket’ with its striking deep pink petals. Lastly in our group of five, Calla Lily ‘Le Reve ’ washes a warm glow over the summer garden. All Calla Lilies make excellent cut flowers. Each bulb should yield at least 10 flowers.

Planting & Care

Summer Blooming Bulbs, including popular varieties such as gladiolus and dahlias, are planted in the spring and bloom in the summer. Most of these bulbs are tropical and require warm weather to be planted. There must not be any danger of frost and your ground temperature must have reached 55 degrees Fahrenheit before planting. Many
of our summer blooming bulbs can be planted as perennials in zones 9-10 (zone 8 if mulched) but should be treated as annuals in cooler climates. You can lift them and store them in the fall, or bring patio pots inside before frost. See page 15 of our Planting Guide for a bulb depth planting illustration.

Growing Calla Lilies:

These tender bulbs can be planted in pots or in the ground. Calla Lily bulbs can be planted as perennials in zones 9-10 (zone 8 if mulched) but should be treated as annuals in cooler climates. You can lift them and store them in the fall, or bring patio pots inside before frost. Calla Lily bulbs quickly create a sizable plant, often growing to 36" high.

As soon as your order is placed you will receive a confirmation email. You will receive a second email the day your order ships telling you how it has been sent. Some perennials are shipped as potted plants, some as perennial roots packed in peat.  The ‘Plant Information’ section describes how that item will ship. All perennials and fall-planted bulbs are packaged to withstand shipping and are fully-guaranteed. Please open upon receipt and follow the instructions included.

Perennials and fall-planted bulbs are shipped at the proper planting time for your Growing Zone. Perennial and fall-planted bulb orders will arrive separately from seeds. If your order requires more than one shipment and all items are shipping to the same address, there is no additional shipping charge.
