Shipping Methods & Planting Info

For the most accurate ship date, please reference the date shown at checkout.

Your plant order will arrive fresh and ready to plant. We use UPS and the US Postal Service. Orders may arrive in multiple packages.

Plants are grown in New Mexico and Utah and ship from our Clinton, Utah greenhouse. Grass plug orders ship from Nebraska, and Wildflower & Grass Seed orders ship from Vermont.

You'll receive a shipping confirmation email when your plants ship. Most plant orders arrive within 2–6 days of leaving our Clinton, UT greenhouses, depending on the destination. We pack plants to withstand up to 10 days in transit in the unlikely event of a delay.

Open your box right away. Refer to our Planting Guide for transplanting tips.

We cannot ship live plants and bulbs outside the contiguous United States. We can ship wildflower seeds, seed packets, and hard goods to Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada.

About Our Plants

  • All plants are grown in pots. We generally don’t sell or recommend bare‑root perennials or shrubs for harsh western climates, with the exception of Daylilies and plants grown from tubers or bulbs, such as Bearded Iris. Learn more: How Our Plants Ship.
  • Our potted plants arrive fully rooted and healthy—plant as soon as possible. Some plants may ship dormant (sleeping). Plant dormant items right away; they do best waking up in the garden as soils warm. Learn more about Dormant Plants.
  • Most plants are sold in Premium 5" deep (1.5‑pint volume) pots unless otherwise noted. Other sizes include 2.5" standard pots (3.25" deep) and 2.25" cactus pots—optimized for water‑thrifty plants.
