'Blut' is one of the very best cold hardy Ice Plants. With its vigorous growth habit, durable evergreen foliage and summer-long display of deep magenta-red flowers, it is an invaluable groundcover. Drought resistant/drought tolerant plant (xeric).

I am very happy with

"I am very happy with my order. Plants seem to be doing fine. I probably will order more."

Perfect for a hellstrip

"Love these plants! I have Fire Spinner ice plants on a berm in my backyard and I love them, so I thought I would try Blut in a Hellstrip along our parking area over a dry well. Glad I did! They have grown a lot since I planted them in October 2024. They are very healthy and seem to love the arid area surrounded by hard scape. When they flower they are just lovely. Highly recommend!"

Ice Flowers

"Ordered this color and several others around 25 plus plants. Initial shipment arrived and the plants were in bad shape due to poor packaging. It also took a long time to receive due to shipping with USPS. Requested 13 replacements, used UPS. We received sooner. Plants, again were in bad shape due to poor packaging. We planted, watered, fertilized and to date we only have three plants living"

Good Quality Plants

"Arrived in good condition. Have been in the ground for a couple of weeks. These are ""slower"" growing plants for ground cover, but are doing well."

Doc (5/5)

15 ice plants arrived in perfect condition

"These plants rooted well and are withstanding 90+ temps only a few weeks after planting. I have high hopes for them in our tough northern Colorado conditions."

Very vivid flowers

"I have this as part of my rock garden next to my sidewalk. I made the mistake the first year of shoveling snow onto the area with the ice plants. By the following early spring the ice plants looked a bit sad. The next winter I made sure to not shovel snow from my sidewalk onto the ice plants and they plants bounced back much faster. The flowers are a bright magenta. A neighbor remarked the flowers look artificial from far away due to the color being so bright."

Good strong plant

"We received 3/4"" hail the same day this was planted. It was very beat up. In fact I took a small panicle of leaves that had been severed by the storm and stuck it into the ground. I now have two strong plants that have tripled in area. No flowers this season, but I am looking forward to next year."

Super hardy, happy plant!

"I bought 5 of these little plants to fill in an area around pavers near my front door that gets absolutely baked in the summer. The soil around my very old house is also not great. These ice plants absolutely took off! They're beautiful whether they're blooming or not and I've been particularly happy with their spread - one very happy ice plant has a diameter of about 25 inches. Notably, these fared much better than the Granita Orange variety for me, which nearly completely died off after their first winter."
