How do we use your location?
Knowing your location helps us recommend plants that will thrive in your climate, based on your Growing Zone.
Agastache hybrid 'Poquito™ Lavender' PP#30,530 (Dwarf Hummingbird Mint) is prized for its compact, bushy growth, long season of bloom, large flowers, and tolerance to heat and drought. Flowering into the fall, it provides welcome late-season nectar for our pollinators. Plant it with other waterwise perennials such as ‘May Night’ Salvia, Penstemon pinifolius, Dianthus, and Nepeta. Not fussy, Agastache plants require well-drained soil and a sunny location, and are drought-tolerant once established. Deadhead spent flowers in summer to encourage more blooms, but leave some spent flowers standing over winter (songbirds love the seeds).
Poquito™ is a fitting name for the most compact series of Agastache plants available – a whole new way to enjoy this favorite waterwise perennial. These native hybrids are small and tidy, making them a perfect fit for small space gardens, containers, and sidewalk gardens. Give these Agastache plants the front row of your garden for non-stop blooms and pollinators.
As soon as your order is placed you will receive a confirmation email. You will receive a second email the day your order ships telling you how it has been sent. Some perennials are shipped as potted plants, some as perennial roots packed in peat. The ‘Plant Information’ section describes how that item will ship. All perennials and fall-planted bulbs are packaged to withstand shipping and are fully-guaranteed. Please open upon receipt and follow the instructions included.
Perennials and fall-planted bulbs are shipped at the proper planting time for your Growing Zone. Perennial and fall-planted bulb orders will arrive separately from seeds. If your order requires more than one shipment and all items are shipping to the same address, there is no additional shipping charge. See our shipping information page for approximate ship dates and more detailed information. If you have any questions, please call Customer Service at (801) 769-0300 or contact us by email or chat.

"Site placement of plants are important. 2 out of 4 planted thrived. Thrivers were grown in a sandy loam soil with rock mulch. The two that did not make it through the first winter were planted in a clay loam with no rock mulch. I usually buy enough plants to test around are the place as we have 3 soil types in the garden areas. We'll plant a few more in the sandy loam areas this next year. We had a grasshopper infestation in 2024 and the flower and vegetable gardens really took a beating in May-July. Hoppers ate plants they normally have not targeted. On the Poquito mint they went for the flowers not so much the foliage. Plants survived and once hopper population faded away the recovered and flowered well from August to the firt frost in October."
"First time I have been disappointed with High Country Gardens. My plants arrived way before the last freeze date for my zone. Two of the five plants were completely out of their container and the potting soil was free in the box. So far I have not seen any growth in those two plants. The other three I'm seeing just recently a new leaf. Since this was the first time I've been disappointed with HCG I have to give them the benefit of doubt. So right now I'm hesitant to recommend this plant because I'm not sure two will make it. I will recommend this plant because of past experience but with reservations."
"It was used as a border. The bumble bees just love it."
