Eremurus (Foxtail Lily or Desert Candle) blooms in early summer with tall spikes of stunning bright yellow flowers. Plant them in well-drained soil where they get full sun. Perennial in USDA zones 5-8 (mulch well in zones 5-6, and remove in early spring). Eremerus are not well-suited for containers as they prefer not to be moved once established. Foxtail Lilies make stunning cut flowers.

Some perennials are shipped as potted plants, some as perennial roots packed in peat. The ‘Plant Information’ section describes how that item will ship. All perennials and fall-planted bulbs are packaged to withstand shipping and are fully-guaranteed. Please open upon receipt and follow the instructions included.
Perennials and fall-planted bulbs are shipped at the proper planting time for your Growing Zone. Perennial and fall-planted bulb orders will arrive separately from seeds. If your order requires more than one shipment and all items are shipping to the same address, there is no additional shipping charge. "I lost a few the first time around. I planted more about 5 years ago and now they put on a stunning display. This fall while scratching around to find space for another plant, I discovered that my originals have now produced dozens of ""pups"" which were pushing up to the soil level. They were easily teased out and apart and shared with friends. I think the first time I overestimated just how much drought they could take. This time they are planted in a soil with a decent amount of clay and they have thrived, BUT it is on a slope and in Colorado where we get tons of sun and little rain and light snow, so they are never soggy. (total 15"" of annual precip) Oh and if you have deer, these are great; no browsing at all!"
"Timing was not good for me and I planted in a container until I had the spot ready. Unfortunately I believe the pot did not drain as well as it should have. It never rooted out. I believe it rotted out instead. Maybe I will try one again next year."
