Himalayan Foxtail Lily (Eremurus himalaicus or Desert Candle) has tall white flower stalks that start summer off in style. Rising to 4-6 ft. tall they are a perfect backdrop to the perennials and flowers in your summer garden. Foxtail Lily’s flower stalks grow out of a rosette of strap-like foliage that dies back as flowering progresses. Plant it with groundcovers, ornamental grasses or other early summer bloomers. Giant Allium are a fun companion, and sure to bring a smile! Plant Himalyan Foxtail Lily in a sunny, wind-protected, spot in well-drained soil. Foxtail lily isn’t picky about soil but good drainage is key as it doesn’t like soggy roots. Water it regularly as flowering progresses, after flowering it doesn’t need much water. Beautiful and long-lasting cut flowers, they add beauty to any bouquet. They will increase in size yearly and may be divided every 3-4 years. Mulch in winter to protect the tuberous roots. 4-6 ft. tall x 1-2 ft. wide.
