"This black eyed susan without the black eye established well, has grown to average height and is blossoming with buds yet to break. Expecting each plant to spread and form the topmost part of my new rock garden. It's a nice, sunny plant and easy to grow."
'Irish Eyes' Black Eyed Susan is vigorous and easygoing, a cheery perennial that often blooms its first year in the ground. Flowers appear generously from mid-summer to early fall, and are larger than is typical for the species, frequently five inches across -- or larger! Borne on fuzzy stems, these flowers are held well above the foliage, standing to three feet high with tufts of fuzzy, rounded, moderate- to light-green leaves below. Irish Eyes Black Eyed Susan adapts easily to a broad range of garden types and conditions, including classic and waterwise perennial beds and borders, inferno strips, and meadows. Irish Eyes Black Eyed Susan grows well in full sun, morning sun with afternoon shade, and both organic and rock mulches. These plants tolerate periodic drought well but develop most quickly and flower best with irrigation.
