Year 3

"Closing out the third summer in the ground and starting to take shape. Lost a penstemon and a lavender first year. Everything else took hold pretty well. The catmint seems to be overtaking the neighbors, so have to cut it back periodically. We are at 7,300 feet, so a fairly short growing season. Tons of pollinators every summer."

Already feeding hummingbirds!

"I planted this pre-planned garden last fall - so less than a year ago. It's already much bigger, with more flowers than I expected at this time. When I went out to take this picture of it two hummingbirds swooped in! I did have a few plants swapped out from the ones I was supposed to get and I was missing one plant, but when I let them know, they sent me the missing plant. Beware that all your plants might not match up exactly with the plan. It's still beautiful and works great though!"

getting there!

"It hasn't been a full year since I planted, so I don't have a sense as to how things will look once they're fully grown in. However, I'm thrilled with the unusual variety of plants and how well they did over the winter (in cold New England). I can't wait to see it in a few years! Would absolutely buy again."

great assortment of plants!

"The plant assortment and suggested planting map were very useful. The plants arrived in decent shape - a couple looked a bit weak and a couple (labeled live root) weren't visible. Most of them have thrived and just one month later, there are even some small blooms! The Texas Blazing Stars had problems - three of the four never came up. However High Country promptly replaced them and the new ones are doing great! I'm so excited to see these plants getting established. They will provide a beautiful garden and will make the hummingbirds and bees happy!"

Not bad

"4 of the plants were dead on arrival. The rest are doing OK. I'm not sure I'll be buying plants from the internet again. Seems like too many die immediately."

Good concept

"While not unhappy, I'm also not overly impressed. Two of the plants were dead on arrival. While the instructions are good, two different layouts could be provided; one for long and one for wide. Unfortunately, you don't know which way it is designed until it arrives. Then you have to make your best guess as to how to rearrange it to make it attractive. I think adding this to the product description would be helpful if you don't choose to provide two layouts. The plants are small, which accounts for the reasonable price point. It's difficult to picture what it will look like in a couple of years since I made up my own placement."

Purchased at previous home and again at next home

"We purchased the Habitat Hero garden and planted along the front of our house. Pics are from about 10 months after planting. They spread and grew even more the following summer. The variety of colors and textures are attractive to people, birds, and butterflies. We liked it so much we purchased this garden again at our next home. Unfortunately, we have ground squirrels here and they liked eating the roots so three of the plants died. The others are all doing well after about 2 years. Thinking of planting this mix plus extra Windbreaker Giant Sacaton Grass to block the wind in our back yard next season."

Maybe

"This area of my yard is very inhospitable. There is a big Russian olive that sucks a lot of moisture out of the area. I will replace the plants they did not live. Eventually it will be a beautiful spot."
