Arrowleaf Buckwheat (Eriogonum compositum) is a lovely Sulphur Buckwheat with large, showy clusters of creamy white or light yellow flowers and low-growing rosette of large heart-shaped leaves. Beautiful late spring blooms add playful texture to the garden. Native to the dry areas of the Pacific Northwest, this buckwheat is an essential habitat plant for butterflies, beneficial insects, and wildlife.

Maybe doesn't appreciate being so dry.

"I say perhaps they don't like being so dry, because I bought 3 plants four years ago, and just one of the three is now blooming for the first time. Maybe they'd do better with more moisture, I haven't been watering them after the first year, and with the exception of one year, we haven't gotten over 10. 5"" precipitation since they've been in the ground. Those also are NOT evergreen, this species is entirely herbaceous, and every other source will tell you the same thing. It's a nice Eriogonum, but it's definitely not been the best performer of the species I've grown."
