Description
36-48â tall x 18-24â wide. Find superpower with Echinops bannaticus 'Star Frost' (Globe Thistle). Your perennial bed will wake up with the lovely contrast created by these easy-care amazing flowers. Lavender and colorful Salvia are beautifully contrasted by the unusual texture and silvery-white spheres of âStar Frostâ. Not fussy about soil type, it just needs good drainage and a sunny spot for best performance. Requiring water while itâs growing, it is drought tolerant the rest of the year. Pollinators love this plant - and donât forget cut flowers! Fresh or dried they are lovely additions to the flower vase. For dried flowers, cut them before they open and dry upside down. For fresh flowers, harvest when blossoms are halfway open. Be sure to leave some standing for birds and winter interest. Fun fact: The name Echinops comes from two Greek words meaning âhedgehog appearance.â
