Description

Carex pellita is a perennial sedge that brings a touch of elegance to yards and gardens with wet soils, with its long and arching leaves that create a soft, flowing look. Creeping rhizomes form dense colonies, making it ideal for soil stabilization projects along marshes, lakeshores and ditches. Plant to create habitat for birds, small mammals and amphibians, turtles and waterfowl in the wet areas of your yard.

A low maintenance and hardy sedge, Carex pellita has a wide native range across most of the United States except for the Southeast and Gulf states. It is adaptable to various soil types, as long as its feet stay consistently wet. It can tolerate a range of lighting conditions from full sun to shade.
