A new, long blooming wildflower introduction collected from the rugged, high dry plains of eastern NM, ‘High Plains Yellow’ Sundrops is well adapted to heat, cold, wind, and drought. This prairie native thrives in harsh conditions. Beginning in late spring, colorful, red speckled buds burst open into large, brilliant yellow flowers. It’s a superb companion plant for Lavender.

"My shipment came with both being very root bound, they were looking scraggly, one of them had dead stems, but green at the top parts, but I planted them both anyway. I've determined since that the one with the dead stems was definitely dead, and one has flourished. I do think some of the problem was with the shipment possibly being delayed by the post office, but I don't think they could have gotten so root bound in such a short time if they had not already been when shipped. I know that it's hard to keep plants alive during such a rough trip as shipping, so I still give 3 stars to this plant."
