Arenaria 'Wallowa Mountains' (Mossy Sandwort) is a great groundcover plant with tiny bright green evergreen leaves. Looks great as a crack filler between flagstone and paving stones. Drought resistant/drought tolerant plant (xeric). A 2015 Plant Select® selection.
A 2015 Plant Select® selection. 1" tall x 10-15" wide (division propagated) This incredible plant grows as a xeric moss in the sun! Arenaria 'Wallowa Mountains' (Mossy Sandwort) is a non-flowering form of Sandwort that grows as a tight bright green mat of very tiny evergreen leaves. Use it as a small-scale groundcover, or as a crack filler between flagstone or paving stones. Because the plant never blooms, it stays looking neat and tidy. Images courtesy of Plant Select®. Cannot tolerate foot traffic.
Flat of 32 plants will cover 27-40 square feet when planted together

"This was my third and last year trying to grow these and one by one they just keep turning brown and dying just as they have in previous years. I really don’t understand what it is that keeps killing them, but if you are in Texas I would not buy these. They have great neutral ph soil that is well drained with a lot of organic matter and I mixed in some organic fertilizer. They get sun half the day. I watered daily for the first week and a half then transitioned to every other day and now water every third day."
"#sweepstakes - the plants arrived in good shape. They have since turned yellow and I am worried they might die. I hope not. I think they are beautiful."

My favorite moss
"When I saw the reviews I was concerned, but still purchased 2 flats. Seems folks had some difficulty. They arrived very healthy about 6 months ago. We have them in a spot that gets about 5 hrs sun. We used very good soil but mixed in a lot of sand and gravel. See the instructions. We may have watered too much at first hoping to get them established. A couple didn't look so good. A couple turned brown and died, which is not bad for the volume we got. As soon as we backed off on the watering the started to thrive. We added in a couple of other mosses to compare. These ones are my favorite, very dense. We are in Berkeley California hills. Remember they are slow growers."

Healthy beautiful
"Arrived in perfect shape, been planted in sandy, gravely part of garden for a month. We got a flat, I must say for plants send via mail, they're in perfect condition. Let's see how they do over summer."
— Caz (5/5)
Fantastic in the right location
"We used this plant with great success in our Ohio garden along a sloped driveway with south facing exposure. The soil was hard, rocky and it was extremely hot. Mulched with pea gravel the plants thrived and fave a beautiful moss-like appearance."

Bonus white flowers, too!
"Very sweet plants; I want a flat after trialing two test specimens. I wasn't quite sure where to plant these, so I ended up just sticking them in our red, alkaline soil and hoping for the best. I spring planted. I watered daily right after transplanting, and soon they had little white flowers as shown in the photo! The description in the listing didn't say anything about blooms, so they were a very happy surprise. Time will tell just how water wise they are, I am watering them now every other day and will probably continue to do so throughout the dry, warm weather of their first season, until they get established. Love that they are evergreen."

Be Patient
"Plant may partially die off, but be patient. It will grow into an attractive plant."
