• Agastache x Kudos™ 'Gold’ (Hummingbird Mint) is a compact-growing extremely long-blooming cultivar perfect for perennial beds and borders
• Delightful and uniquegolden-yellow flowers are an unusual color for the Agastache genus with blooms appearing on short, tidy flower spikes from late spring through summer
• The nectar-rich tubular-shaped flowers of Kudos™ 'Gold’ are irresistable to hummingbirds and beneficial pollinators
• Plants in the The Kudos™ Agastache series were selected for their exceptional tolerance to moisture and cold and they can be grown across most of the US
The Kudos™ Agastache series are hybrid cultivars selected for increased tolerance to moisture and cold. Species native to the Southwestern United States and Northern Mexico, adapted to tolerate heat and drought, are crossed with Agastache rugosa, a species native to Asia that better tolerates more moisture and colder winters. Kudos™ plants feature the benefits of both species for a more versatile and weather-tolerant Agastache plant. They are more compact and tidy, and feature dense, long-flowering blooms, holding their colorful calyxes even after flowers have faded. The Kudos series exhibits excellent cold hardiness and can be grown across most of the US.
Planting & Care
Tips for growing Agastache
Agastache are sun loving plants with aromatic foliage and flowers. They bloom from mid-summer into early fall and are resistant to rabbits and deer.
Agastache need lean, well-drained soils, prefer gravel mulches, and appreciate deep but infrequent watering after their second growing season
Provide a fast draining soil that's naturally low in fertility, Don't plant into clay soils.
Plant in full hot sun.
Just a few handfuls of compost in the planting hole is enough. Don't plant into a rich, highly amended soil..
Fertilize the Agastache just once in fall with Yum Yum Mix.
New transplants need regular irrigation their first growing season to establish themselves. Watering can be reduced greatly during the second growing season when the plants have matured.
To improve winter-hardiness, and encourage re-seeding, leave the stems intact over the winter. In mid-spring, remove old stems just above the new foliage, about 4 or 5 inches above ground level.
If your conditions don't lend themselves to growing Agastache in your garden, they do well planted in containers.

I have been ordering from
"I have been ordering from HCG for over 20 years and the plants I have received never disappoint. The Kudos Gold Agastache will add some much needed color to my drought tolerant garden. I have also recently purchased Edelweiss Lavender as well as some Mock Orange. All are thriving in my zone 10a garden,"

The plants sent were entirely
"The plants sent were entirely too small. I order plants from Bluestone Perennials and White Flower Farm regularly that are never this small and are comparably priced. Even replacement plants are sent way prematurely. Never again!"
— Monte O. (1/5)
Not a good choice for north Georgia
"This is year 2 in a large container in mostly full sun in Georgia, and it has not performed. It will be shovel pruned to make way for something better."

Outstanding esthetically & as a bee haven
"My two gold agastache are off to a beautiful start in their first year, blooming well, attracting bees, and showing off their enchanting golden yellow flowers. I expect that this time next year they will be much fuller. They are one of the healthier, more robust first year perennials I have acquired. I warmly recommend ordering in the autumn. #SWEEPSTAKES"

Absolutely beautiful Hummingbird attracters!!
"Hummingbirds hitting on flowers within a week after planting in railing boxes on deck!! I was a bit hesitant about flowers shipped from Utah to Western Pennsylvania, but could not be happier with excellent packing and care for delivery!!! Healthy as could possibly dream of immediately!! SUPER SUPER SUPER !!!!"
— Dave (5/5)
Gorgeous, healthy plants
"I am impressed with High Country Gardens. I live in CA and they're in Utah. I received my plants which were very well packed and still moist. The plants were in great condition and within about 3 weeks started blooming. The color is a beautiful gold-ish color that looks great with my coyote mint and other purple-flowered perennials. I ordered another bunch of agastache from HCG and two of the five were dry and fading but within an hour of watering them, they sprung right back and are super healthy plants. With mail ordering, one never knows how long your package may have sat out in the sun and then there's always unexpected delays. I will definitely order from HCG again as I can't always find what I'm looking forward at my local nurseries."
— Claire (5/5)
Exactly as advertised
"Great color and Texture, blooms for months in Utah. We are using it in xeriscaping and it's doing really well."
— Al (5/5)
Obsessed with this plant!
"I bought two of these last summer, planted them in the fall when they arrived, and now they're ✨THRIVING ✨ in my front flower bed!"
— Rea (5/5)
I intend to order more of these next spring.
"These have attracted numerous hummingbirds to our yard."
— Two M. (5/5)
Excellent!
"I used the Kudos Gold Agastache is some containers for a client. They look great, filled out very quickly and are blooming like crazy. I would highly recommend. I'll transfer them to the landscape this fall when I empty the containers."
