How do we use your location?
Knowing your location helps us recommend plants that will thrive in your climate, based on your Growing Zone.
Imagine a clear sky with a line of low clouds on the horizon, tinted shades of orange, pink and lavender by the rising sun and you have the color of 'Desert Sunrise' flowers. A hybrid I discovered in my garden a few years back, 'Desert SunriseĀ®' is a cross between the two best southwestern species of the genus: Agastache rupestris and Agastache cana. This new perennial introduction is a sturdy, vigorous grower that blooms non-stop from mid-summer through fall. The flower spikes are quite large and both the foliage and flowers are delightfully fragrant. Agastache 'Desert SunriseĀ®' is xeric like Agastache rupestris, but like Agastache cana adapts well to regular garden conditions with better soils and more plentiful water. Best of all, 'Desert SunriseĀ®' is a rich nectar source that is very popular with hummingbirds! Not recommended for Fall planting in zones 5-6. (cutting propagated)

"It has only been a couple of weeks since the plant arrived and was planted into the ground here in the desert. It seems to be thriving at this point. It has even grown an inch since I planted it into the ground. Thank you High Country Gardens for providing me with the right plants for here in Palm Springs, CA (desert)!"
"The root structure was full, but the plant had been in the container for a long time so the roots were really tangled. The plants were wimpy."
"If it was in the description I missed it, regarding the size of the plant. I knew it would be on the small side just didn't expect a seedling for the price."
"This is probably my favorite Agastache I've tried. Foliage looks like A. rupestris but has A. Cana bubblegum scent, and it performs like A. rupestris being good without much supplemental irrigation, but has A. cana color. Also like how compact it is and loaded with blooms, a lot of the other bigger ones seem to be way more spread out."
"I have nine plants. Long bloomers. Colors are striking. So thick and luscious. They attract tons of honeybees, hummingbirds and butterflies. I love watering them because they smell so good!"
"I planted these in the hellstrip next to my lavender. Good decision."
"Love the Agastache variety and I have bought a quite few from HCG. I try to buy low maintenance water wise plants that can take the Texas heat ant these plants have thrived for me and I love that the pollinators love them too. We have many neighbors that have Bees in our Neighborhood. ""Sweepstakes""."
"I love my 3 agastaches! They grew so big so quickly! Super impressed with the packaging and how healthy these plants were! #sweepstakes"
"I planted these Agastache in a well draining slope. they have been a little slow to get going, but we have been experiencing days on end of triple digit temperatures with no rain. I have watered them more than normal due to the hot dry conditions, but hope they will establish by next year to grow in more fully. I do enjoy the color and they are still alive after this summer so that is excellent."
"I love my Agastache, it is very strong and resilient. I also have Agastache Ava. I've planted them among Lavender, the two go well together."
