Description
Iris germanica ‘Lady Friend’ (Tall Bearded Iris) offers an elegant blend of violet, plum and burgundy hues which gorgeously contrast against the lighter standards. ‘Lady Friend’ has received both the Honorable Mention in 1983 and the Award of Merit in 1985 from the Royal Horticultural Society.
Plant 'Lady Friend’ in a sunny location with well-drained soil, ensuring the rhizomes are exposed or level with the soil surface. Grouping them in clusters of three or more enhances their visual impact and creates a stunning focal point in the garden. Perfect for mixed borders and rock gardens, use as focal points in foundation plantings, or grow them in containers for patio displays. Once established, Bearded Irises are drought-tolerant, deer resistant, and rabbit resistant, and will spread and multiply when happy.
