Funday Monday' Fragrant Bearded Iris is a late-spring star with ruffled, colorful petals with a complex, velvety look. Green sword-shaped foliage adds an extra note of interest all summer long. A prolific bloomer, it has sturdy stems with 3 branches and 5-7 buds per branch. Plant extra for bouquet-ready cut flowers. Blooming from late-spring to early-summer at a height of 33-37" tall, 'Funday Monday' blends nicely into a perennial bed and is a great choice behind geranium or Nepeta. Consider planting them with Digitalis, Baptisia, and Salvia for a harmonious look. While we enjoy its soothing scent, deer and rabbits stay away. Drought-tolerant once established, plant it in enriched, well-draining garden soil in a sunny location. Bearded Iris will multiply over a few years, creating increasing stands of flowers. Dig them every 3-4 years, separate, replant and enjoy even more Iris.
