How do we use your location?
Knowing your location helps us recommend plants that will thrive in your climate, based on your Growing Zone.
Joshua Tree (Yucca brevifolia) is a tree yucca specie. This unique plant is an iconic symbol of the Mojave Desert. It has good cold hardiness and can be planted throughout the milder winter areas of the Western US. Be patient, as this slow growing beauty can take many years to reach the mature size so often photographed in the wild. Find a hot, sunny spot with poor, infertile, quick-draining soil for planting. Water regularly (a deep soaking every few weeks during the growing season) will help it to grow a little more quickly. Grown from seed collected near St. George, UT.
As soon as your order is placed you will receive a confirmation email. You will receive a second email the day your order ships telling you how it has been sent. Some perennials are shipped as potted plants, some as perennial roots packed in peat. The ‘Plant Information’ section describes how that item will ship. All perennials and fall-planted bulbs are packaged to withstand shipping and are fully-guaranteed. Please open upon receipt and follow the instructions included.
Perennials and fall-planted bulbs are shipped at the proper planting time for your Growing Zone. Perennial and fall-planted bulb orders will arrive separately from seeds. If your order requires more than one shipment and all items are shipping to the same address, there is no additional shipping charge. See our shipping information page for approximate ship dates and more detailed information. If you have any questions, please call Customer Service at (801) 769-0300 or contact us by email or chat.

"Will this 'yucca' survive this far north if properly conditioned? We live at the ""edge of a desert"" in Salt Lake County. They (2) arrived in small pots where they stayed in our sunroom/greenhouse during the 2 months of spring. Moved out into full sun & light, daily sprinkling for 3 months of summer. Repotted into large, deep clay pot and back into the sunroom for the coming winter. They are growing about as much as expected - not much! but growing. They've generated great root systems."
"I seen this tree on road trip and fell in love with its unquiness. They came in a 2. 5 pot looked heathly and l planted them directly. Put little greenhouses over them as it gets cold at night. In ground for 2 weeks and they are happy happy little Joshua;s Thank You High Country Gardens"
