How do we use your location?
Knowing your location helps us recommend plants that will thrive in your climate, based on your Growing Zone.
10” tall x 12-18” wide. Purple Mountain® Sun Daisy (Osteospermum) is a compact but floriferous variety that blooms with strong red-violet flowers on green lanceolate foliage in early summer. Also known as African Daisy or Cape Daisy. A long bloomer, Purple Mountain® is well adapted to higher elevations and cooler night temperatures. Osteospermum spreads slowly via surface rhizomes. For best results, plant in a full sun position in well-draining, average-to-fertile soil, as these plants tend to melt away in overly wet conditions. Regularly dead-heading will result in a longer bloom time, and tidying it with a light shearing after its first flush of bloom will result in a neater appearance and a higher chance of late summer/early fall blooms.
As soon as your order is placed you will receive a confirmation email. You will receive a second email the day your order ships telling you how it has been sent. Some perennials are shipped as potted plants, some as perennial roots packed in peat. The ‘Plant Information’ section describes how that item will ship. All perennials and fall-planted bulbs are packaged to withstand shipping and are fully-guaranteed. Please open upon receipt and follow the instructions included.
Perennials and fall-planted bulbs are shipped at the proper planting time for your Growing Zone. Perennial and fall-planted bulb orders will arrive separately from seeds. If your order requires more than one shipment and all items are shipping to the same address, there is no additional shipping charge. See our shipping information page for approximate ship dates and more detailed information. If you have any questions, please call Customer Service at (801) 769-0300 or contact us by email or chat.

"Has been blooming for over a month now. It has been in the ground for two months in a part sun spot and is thriving. I hope to buy more soon."
"I planted this in my border. I've never grown it before, but purple + daisy are attractive qualities to me. It looks good so far, and I always get good plants from High Country Gardens."
"Saw this plant on their website last year. Wasn't available at the time so when it became available for spring delivery, I immediately bought a few. They arrived healthy and are doing well."
"I ordered two Purple Mountain Sun Daisies as experimental fillers for plants I really wanted that were out of stock. These daisies are so healthy; they've tripled in width since I received them and have been in constant bloom (with regular deadheading). The plants are short and the blooms are small; the color is vibrant and they are like a miniature version of my nearby Ruby Star Echinacea."
"I planted it next to some other non hardy osteospermums. It is blooming & very beautiful. I hope it is hardy, but if not, I enjoyed the flowers this season."
"Border plant."
