Settling in nicely

"So far so good! The plant has settled in and is happy in its location. I'm hopeful this will be a nice addition to the bed border"

Lovely plant that's doing well.

"It's in a container with other plants flanking the front door. Makes a lovely addition to the front yard."

So… this is pretty interesting

"As the overview mentions, this is a Solidago species from high elevations in the montane to alpine. Many alpine plants bloom at the same time at these high elevations because the growing season is only a few months long, essentially there is no seasons, just 9 months of winter followed by a cool summer, so what happens when you bring one of these plants down to low elevations… it blooms in spring. I planted this at three different houses, 2 in Cheyenne one in Burns and they all bloomed in May, also have a friend in Denver who had the same results in different years… blooms in mid spring, same time as Tulips, take that how you will. It's also not very good on hot temperatures being an alpine species, so will need more water the lower in Elevation you are. Performed pretty well for me I'd say though… we'll see what the future holds for this spring blooming goldenrod."

Amazing products

"I have used high country to transform our patio home in Albuquerque, as well as the building I work at on base. Their products thrive as long as you follow instructions. I have purchased so many different plants from them including the dog grass for a small water wise place for my pups. The garden at work has thrived even though we are super exposed and the soil was very poor. Overall happy and everyone here at work loves all the birds, butterflies, and hummingbird's."

Great plant for beginner gardeners!

"I purchased two of these a year ago and at first I was pretty underwhelmed. They were tiny and weedy looking and didn't flower that first season. It's been a year now and they've really filled out. Buds are forming and I expect flowers this summer. I was so impressed that I purchased four more this spring. I've added a photo that shows the baby plant and one-year old side by side. I planted them in full sun at 9000ft elevation."

Rocky Mountain Goldenrod (Solidago)

"I bought this several years ago (probably from High Country Gardens). I am in north central Florida zone 9a. This plant makes a nice evergreen groundcover but has never bloomed for me!! It's worth growing just for the groundcover. . . it has multiplied very nicely, is always healthy with no problems. But I guess it needs some more chill hours to bloom(?). I have it growing in 2 different places and I just decided I'll try a third spot with more sun. Today, I was wondering if this is EVEN a solidago at all, but yes looks to be this one like I always KNEW. . . whatever, it hasn't bloomed in at least 6 or 7 or 8 (?) years!!!"

good survival

"I bought several and all the solidago have survived. It's still year 1, so I cannot speak to ultimate size or blooms. Solidago as a genus host the larva of more species of butterfly and moth than any other non-tree in my zip code. Everyone needs to have locally native plants of this genus if they want to optimize their contribution to the next generation of butterflies and moths, and this species appears to be a smaller and better behaved option than most, especially for smaller garden areas."

So far so good

"I ordered 3 of these little guys. They are in full sun intermixed around a border and seem to be happy. The foliage is low and in a spreading clump. I don't think they will get any flowers this 1st year but looking forward to next years blooms! I have 3 different types of goldenrod and this is the smallest, most compact in my garden."

Arrived in fantastic condition!

"I am just so impressed at the conditions these plants came in! Both of my Rocky Mountain Goldenrods came very healthy, tall and with blooms on. I've never gotten mail order plants in such great shape and so tall. I can't wait to put these in my garden!"
