(4-6" tall x 8-12" wide) 'Cape Blanco' Creeping Sedum is a garden-worthy
favorite that will form a carpet of grey-green, powdery rosettes often
touched with lavender-pink. Slow growing, succulent Cape Blanco Sedum is
an easy-to-grow and low-maintenance plant perfect for borders,
containers, rock, and alpine gardens, or where mass plantings are
needed. Winner of an Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural
Society. Small bright yellow flowers cover the foliage for over a month
in summer. Birds, bees, and butterflies love the flowers. Deer and
rabbit resistant, it’s a great pick for garden edges or retaining walls.
Evergreen, it naturalizes over time to form colonies of lovely
grey-green foliage in zones 5-9. Plant it where its foliage can accent
and highlight other garden perennials or create a mosaic of ground cover
sedums in rivers of contrasting colors and forms Plant ‘Cape Blanco’ in
poor to average or gravelly soil with good drainage in a sunny spot. It
can tolerate some shade, but full sun is best. Native to the Pacific
Northwest, good drainage is a key to success. It’s also sensitive to
below freezing temperatures and may need a conifer bough mulch for cold
winters.
