24-36" tall x 15" wide (seed propagated).'Blaze' Little Bluestem grass is invaluable in xeriscapes and native wildflower plantings, plus it has great winter color! A cultivar selected by agronomists in NE as a high yielding pasture grass, Schizachyrium scoparium 'Blaze' is also used ornamentally for its vivid red fall foliage. In winter it remains a standout as the leaves fade to deep pink. Blaze Little Bluestem grass is easily grown and adapts to any soil type, including clay.

I have not had good luck with this plant
"I received 3 of these grasses as part of a planned garden. 1 grew feebly, and the other 2 died. High Country Gardens was very good about replacing the 2 dead plants. Only one of those grew, and it's feeble, too. Everything else in that planned garden has done very well. I would not recommend this grass based on my experience."

"I loved the look of this grass in the pictures, and even though the conditions in my garden don't really match what are stated as ideal, it has really flourished. It's late to emerge but seems very robust and easy going--even in my wet NY clay. I guess we'll see if it comes back next year after our wet spring!"
