Arrived dead

"Plant arrived dead. I emailed High country gardens about it and never received a reply. Attached are pictures of the plant I took within 24 hours of receiving it and getting it in to the ground to try and save it. You can see that each branch is dead except for one. Not worth the money spent or putting on the clearance shelf at a big home improvement store. Disappointed in quality and customer service."

This is an alkaline soil survivor

"I've had so many (5+) English Lavender bushes die because Colorado has alkaline soil & the ones I bought were started at low altitude in acidic soil. It really makes a difference that High Country Gardens starts their plants at higher altitudes and in alkaline soil. The survival rate of HCG plants is so much higher for Colorado gardeners."

I will buy from High Country Gardens again!

"I ordered two Munstead Violet English lavender plants from HCG after seeing many spectacular plants last summer at the Santa Fe gardens. The two plants arrived in the fall, with one plant arriving damaged by the delivery service (through no fault of HCG; parcel delivery in this area from any of the majors is often poor at best). I notified HCG and they promptly sent a replacement lavender plant. Both plants are healthy and have done fabulously to date and importantly, they arrived as the variety of lavender that was advertised and that I ordered, which often does not occur when I purchase lavender from our big box nurseries. My plants look fantastic and I am optimistic that they will do better as they mature. Kudos to NCG."

Recommended way to obtain lavender

"Arrived very healthy with instructions that made it easy to plant and be successful."

Tough as nails and so beautiful!

"I have heavy, alkaline clay instead of soil, and I rarely water anything. The Munstead lavender is perfect for my garden - the less I mess with it, the happier it is!"

Not sure - We'll see how the summer in AZ goes

"The plants are looking a little stressed and it's still June. Not sure they will make it until October"

Beautiful and smells great!

"I love the smell, color, and even flavor of lavender. When we decided to landscape our own yard, I knew I wanted to incorporate some edible lavender plants. They are beautiful and fragrant. Just wish the bloom time was longer in our zone."

Beautiful, healthy plants

"The Munstead lavender plants were well-packaged and arrived in great shape. My first order from High Country Gardens won't be my last."

hardy lavender

"Worried about how they will come through the winter."

An excellent backdrop. Rabbitproof

"This plant does great for me in full sun or a little shade, dry clay soil. It is a great plant to fill in the holes where the rabbits are something. Blends well with all the other perennials. I'm buying two more trays this fall."
