How do we use your location?
Knowing your location helps us recommend plants that will thrive in your climate, based on your Growing Zone.
Plants in the FlowerKisser® series have been selected by High Country Gardens Founder David Salman. These new perennial introductions are particularly nectar-rich and attract many pollinators, including honey bees, native bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. The name “flower-kisser” is the translation of “beja-flor,”the Portuguese word for hummingbird!
As soon as your order is placed you will receive a confirmation email. You will receive a second email the day your order ships telling you how it has been sent. Some perennials are shipped as potted plants, some as perennial roots packed in peat. The ‘Plant Information’ section describes how that item will ship. All perennials and fall-planted bulbs are packaged to withstand shipping and are fully-guaranteed. Please open upon receipt and follow the instructions included.
Perennials and fall-planted bulbs are shipped at the proper planting time for your Growing Zone. Perennial and fall-planted bulb orders will arrive separately from seeds. If your order requires more than one shipment and all items are shipping to the same address, there is no additional shipping charge. See our shipping information page for approximate ship dates and more detailed information. If you have any questions, please call Customer Service at (801) 769-0300 or contact us by email or chat.

"Great looking plant. It's already growing very rapidly."
"This plant arrived in a wonderful condition and is still going strong"
"Received 3 of these this spring. Didn't get to plant until July. They stayed fairly healthy in their tiny pots in semi-shade surrounded by soil. Once planted, they stayed about the same size until September. Then they started to grow and two of them have produced new starts which are now around 6 inches tall. They have all grown 12 to 16 inches. Two had good root systems and one not so much, but it produced the start. I watered them more than they say to, but they are in sandy soil, and I could see they were stressing. I also used Mycorrhizal Fungi Root Enhancer. Planting tips rarely apply here other than soil type, I prefer to watch the plant and see what it needs to thrive where I have planted them. Time will tell how hardy they are this winter and hopefully bloom a bit next summer. Fingers crossed!"
"I have read all the reviews regarding this plant, and am still willing to give it a try. I live in Bakersfield , Ca where summers are now between 100 and 111 degrees F. Basically we live in a desert with very warm soils. I understand that propagators use a soil mix that is peat based. Peat moss is hydrophobic. It dries out in our hot soils and will not absorb water. I always, always carefully remove all the peat based soil from the roots when I receive the plants. Yes, it will set back the growth of the plant a little, but I have found that it keeps it alive. I repot a small plant into a bark based soil with added native sand. A large vigorous plant gets carefully planted in the ground. I even do this with lavender, which takes even longer to recover, but does not die. My career was as a plant propagator and am now retired. I have learned a lot along the way. Good luck."
"I had not ordered from HCG before so did not know what to expect. The two yuccas I received are both nice healthy specimens, 12 and 14 inches tall. I have dozens of yuccas in my NM garden, red, yellow, white, and Brakelight. These FlowerKisser are unique so I planted them in large containers. These will take time to get established so no growth after three months but they continue to look healthy. The downside? HCG continues to send me emails months after I ""unsubscribed to all email"". Poor internet etiquette. Otherwise, good service, on-time, and fine specimens. Time will tell how well they grow."
