the only one to survive this terrible heat!

"I ordered 5 different ice plants, only 3 made it the first few months and this one was the only one to survive our record breaking heat (Arizona) - it has not bloomed yet but I'm very much looking forward to it!"

"This plant is truly fascinating! And wow, talk about hardy! I bought this from HCG in the fall of 2017. It is Evergreen, and survived the winter and my overwatering, which killed all of my other succulents in that planting. Yes, it was the ONLY survivor. That's how tolerant it is. I am sure that it got stepped on at least once as well. All through 2018, it looked like nothing much. No blooms, no growth. I had to remind myself the rule about perennials: First year they sleep. Second year they creep. Third year they leap. 2017 it slept. 2018 it crept. And 2019 it finally leapt! I had almost forgotten I had ever planted this, so I was delighted to go out one sunny day in mid April 2019 and see all of these bright pink flowers! In full sun, the blooms open. In shade or night, the blooms close and are protected by thick, succulent sheaths, to become almost invisible. This protection makes each blossom quite long lived. I would absolutely recommend this cold hardy, Evergreen and tough as nails succulent for connoisseurs or beginners."
