Description
Iris germanica 'Dream Of You' (Tall Bearded Iris) is a modern take on its famous parent, ‘Dover Beach,’ featuring beautifully ruffled petals. The top petals (standards) are a soft dawn blue with a misty yellow edge, while the bottom petals (falls) are a deep ultraviolet blue with a lavender edge and a hint of yellow.
Plant in well-draining soil in a sunny spot with the tops of the rhizomes even with the soil level. Keep moist until established but be careful not to over water. Use a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring to encourage strong growth and lots of flowers, but don’t overdo it as too much fertilizer can lead to weak growth. Deadhead spent blooms to keep the plant looking tidy and encourage more flowers and trim the foliage back to about 3-4 inches above the ground in late summer.
