Blue Spruce Sedum

(6-8" tall x 12-24" wide) 'Blue Spruce' Creeping Sedum (Sedum reflexum) is a carefree selection valued for its blue-green conifer-like foliage. At 6-8 inches tall, it shines in rock gardens, containers, rock walls, and areas that need a drought-tolerant, disease-resistant, low-maintenance planting. Best grown in full sun in poor to average soil with good drainage. It will tolerate some shade, but no soggy roots! Commonly called stonecrop, it is often found in the wild tucked in and thriving among rock outcrops and gravelly areas. 'Blue Spruce' flowers in the summer for over a month with tiny yellow star-like flowers that attract many beneficial insects and pollinators – bees, butterflies, and birds included. Pinch back stems in the spring to thicken up the plant if desired. It will naturalize and spread slowly over time in zones 4-9.
