"Makes a nice tight row as a backdrop for shorter flowers in front."
"I planted this grass for the skippers to have a place to lay their eggs."
"I recently added Standing Ovation Little Bluestem to my garden, and I couldn't be more impressed! This grass has been an absolute game changer for my landscape. Right out of the pot, it has a sturdy, upright form that truly lives up to its name. The silvery-blue foliage is gorgeous in the summer, and as fall rolls in, it transforms into vibrant shades of red, orange, and copper, a real showstopper! What I love most is how easy it is to care for. It thrives in full sun, requires minimal water, and handles poor soil like a champ. If you're into drought-tolerant plants, this is a must-have. Plus, it's great for attracting wildlife. I've noticed more birds around the garden since planting it. If you're looking for an ornamental grass that's both beautiful and tough, I highly recommend Standing Ovation Little Bluestem. It's brought amazing texture and color to my garden with virtually no effort!"
"Planted in the back of a small flower garden, and they are just the right size to blend with echinaceas, Stokes asters and medium-height solidagos."
"I planted 9 little blue stem in the spring of 2020 ( two inch pots). I was hoping they would do well between the sidewalk and the curb (admittedly a tough place for plants). There is no irrigation in that area but I gave them frequent water the first year and then in years 2-3 watered about twice a month. All 9 plants have survived and have about doubled in size. They look OK, but only flower a little in the fall and do not have any significant red color during the winter - just brown straw looking. They probably just need more water - and they are surviving in a tough environment."
"Atractive, sturdy plants that tolerate dry conditions."
"This is a beautiful plant from mid-summer through the winter until I cut it down for it's new growth. I've had it 3-4 years in my native, xeric garden and l loved it from the first fall when it turned pink-red. I transplanted it to another location last year to give it more prominence and had no problem. It is drought resistant and hardy. I really like it."
