How do we use your location?
Knowing your location helps us recommend plants that will thrive in your climate, based on your Growing Zone.
Plants in the FlowerKisser® series have been selected by High Country Gardens Founder David Salman. These new perennial introductions are particularly nectar-rich and attract many pollinators, including honey bees, native bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. The name “flower-kisser” is the translation of “beja-flor,”the Portuguese word for hummingbird!
As soon as your order is placed you will receive a confirmation email. You will receive a second email the day your order ships telling you how it has been sent. Some perennials are shipped as potted plants, some as perennial roots packed in peat. The ‘Plant Information’ section describes how that item will ship. All perennials and fall-planted bulbs are packaged to withstand shipping and are fully-guaranteed. Please open upon receipt and follow the instructions included.
Perennials and fall-planted bulbs are shipped at the proper planting time for your Growing Zone. Perennial and fall-planted bulb orders will arrive separately from seeds. If your order requires more than one shipment and all items are shipping to the same address, there is no additional shipping charge. See our shipping information page for approximate ship dates and more detailed information. If you have any questions, please call Customer Service at (801) 769-0300 or contact us by email or chat.

"I absolutely love getting my plants from HCG!!! Plants are always healthy upon arrival and they're a high altitude garden nursery which is a great thing considering the altitude of my home in Woodmoor Colorado!!! Thank you HCG!!"
"My plants arrived in great shape and are thriving in my garden."
"All plants are great."
"I purchased this earlier the year. I was unsure of where I wanted to put it. So, it sat on my porch for a bit. Then it started to bloom and just GROW! It was planted in ground about 2 months ago. It has never stopped blooming and it has a TREE TRUNK ROOT! I planted this in an area for my Brother who passed away. He loves it too !"
"I am continually adding different plants to my hummingbird garden. I saw this plant at The Botanic Gardens and knew I needed this to plant among the existing salvias, agastaches and blonde ambition blue gamma grass. It has grown quite large and is a hummingbird magnet. I am hoping it will overwinter. So happy with the results."
"This is a rather large salvia (@ 3-ft tall and wide) and seems to be at home in an area which receives 6-7 hrs of afternoon sun. It hasn't bloomed yet, but buds are forming. Our soil is partly clay but drains fairly well. I would buy this variety again. Be sure to enter me in the ""Sweepstakes"" and thank you!"
"I ordered five of these Salvias and four of them are doing beautifully. One of them came with a ""dormant"" sticker but didn't look alive. I planted with the others but I haven't seen any signs of life from that one. The other four have grown and are flowering. The color of the flowers is terrific."
"This is my second try with this variety. It is growing quickly and looks great. #sweepstakes"
"I am thrilled with the FlowerKisser Dark Shadows salvia and am happy to report they survived the Iowa winter! i have been transforming a section of our yard into a large hummingbird/pollinator garden and am happy to have added the FlowerKisser Dark Shadows and Royal Rose salvia. I have planted them with the Windwalker Royal Red salvia, and they are pretty when they bloom together. I am in the third year of my hummingbird/pollinator garden and have experimented with different locations/moisture zones in my garden. I have a zone for perennials that tend to be more thirsty that I water more frequently, one zone for perennials that need ""average"" moisture, and a ""dry"" zone. These salvias do best in the dry to average moisture zone of my garden, both of which have good drainage. #sweepstakes"
"I ordered this in the hopes it will get tall enough for the hummingbirds to get nectar from the flowers. #sweepstakes"
