Ratibida columnifera (Mexican Hat) is the mahogany-red colored form of Prairie Coneflower that blooms from mid-summer into fall. A good naturalizing wildflower, it attracts bees and butterflies. 15-24" tall x 18" wide. Drought resistant/drought tolerant plant (xeric).

15-24" tall x 18" wide. The roadsides of northeastern New Mexico light up with color in midsummer when large stands of Prairie Coneflower come into bloom. This drought tolerant plant is easy to establish and naturalizes readily so you can grow your own stand of wildflowers. 'Mexican Hat' is a heavy bloomer, with a mature plant producing hundreds of flowers with the distinctive mahogany-red petals edged in yellow. Native. Low fertility, well drained soil.
