Low Maintenance, Bees love it!

"I planted another Catmint in my rock garden 3 years ago and it has become a showstopper and attracts hordes of fat, fuzzy bumblebees. The purple/blue flowers bloom all summer long and the large mounding shape and dark green leaves add texture and curves to my rock garden. Being low maintenance and low water usage is also a huge plus. So I bought this catmint from High Country Gardens and am very pleased with the health and beauty of this plant and how well packaged it was as well, especially since the USPS ignored the arrows up and live plants labels on the sides of the box. I'm eager to watch it grow and attract more bees and butterflies to my rock garden!"

What a thug in the garden

"Bought 3 small plants in 2020, I now pull out hundreds of small plants every year. Yes the bees love it, blooms early and is colorful, but was not prepared for the weeding of unwanted plants, hard to cut off seed heads of so prolific a bloomer"

A Great Pollinator Border!

"I'm using Walker's Deep Blue Nepeta as a border in my yard. I am amazed at how quickly they took and the first season's production. I will be buying more to extend the border even further next year!"

Fantastic Plant

"I planted 3 of these Nepetas in a newly prepared border and they have surpassed my expectations. I had to keep them in the original shipping pots for longer than expected but it didn't seem to slow them down. Once planted, they just took off. They shrug off the 100-degree heat and still look great when other plants are drooping a bit. A great plant."

Very Durable Plant

"I received three of these plants from HCG in 2019 fall and all have thrived. I'm at 5850' elevation and, the plants face south and west. They receive hot intense sun during day and are outstanding xeric plants! After flowering, I cut stems back in July and get a second flush of blooms. Because they propagate some seedlings, you can expand your number of plants at no cost. (For some gardeners this may not be a positive so I gave the plant a #4 rating. ) I only water twice a month with a soaker hose."

Watch out!

"I had several of these plants where I used to live(zone 5 Nevada border with Calif. . far north) I lived on many acres. This plant grows like crazy. My cats rolled on it which tended to flatten it. It does drop and grow flattish eventually anyway. I always hacked it back after first bloom and always got a second growth. Sounds good right? Not so good, if left to it's own devices my entire yard would have been Nepeta. I was continually pulling up baby Nepeta. In my new location I now only have one plant and it is in a pot!!"

Really are deer & rabbit proof-other say so but not

"I was ready to give up trying to actually get so-called deer & rabbit proof plants to grow after several years. This is the 1st time that the deer & rabbits didn't go for them & they walk through our mountain yard daily. I'm so glad to find a plant that actually lives here."

Deer/rabbits totally avoided - YAY - A 1st for me.

"I'm super happy with this plant, since I've tried so many advertised as deer & rabbit resistant, which our daily deer & rabbits wander through our zone 5 mountain home all the time. Also I planted in the fall & we had snows & temps down to zero, but these all came through beautifully. There's hope for my garden afterall. YAY"

Hard to argue with this 2nd year bloom

"This is two plants, started last spring. Huge growth and great color. Only challenge with these (and most nepeta), is taking seriously the amount of space they will occupy. Bees, hummers, love them!"
