"I planted several of these about 10 yrs ago . as accent plants in my front garden . They are deer resistant which wins them points. However , I am moving them and dividing the clumps because they have out-performed and I am putting them to good use on the entry driveway to our house . They will do fine with a good wet winter and very little summer water . The fountain shape is graceful. I'd prefer native Plants , and do plant Native Grasses now , but don't want to throw these on the compost pile since they are attractive in their own right ."
"This grass is part of a garden border--a living fence. I don't have a lot of sun in my yard and we are on year-round water rationing, so this grass, although growing and looking good, will probably not be what I want it to be in my lifetime."
This plant is the frosting on the cake for any garden, pleasing us by adding texture and color over the entire growing season. The stiff gray-blue leaves are very striking. They provide the foundation for the ornamental 4' tall flower spikes that shoot up and ripen to a soft brown by midsummer. Cut back in April to encourage vigorous new growth. (division propagated)
