Description

Dianthus deltoides ‘Flashing Lights’ (Maiden Pink) forms loose mats of dark green leaves that are covered in fragrant brilliant red flowers from mid-spring to summer. Plant it in a full-sun location with average, neutral to alkaline well-drained soil. Once established, Dianthus deltoides is drought tolerant and low maintenance. You may shear it back after flowering to encourage reblooming and to tidy up the foliage. Lovely planted with Blue Flax, Veronica, Sedum, and Wildflower Tulips. It is native to Europe and Asia where it is found in dry, chalky, alpine areas. Toxic to dogs, cats, and horses if consumed.
