Why Plant Dianthus?
Dianthus plants (known as garden or cheddar pinks) are enjoyed for their silvery-green foliage and showy, fragrant flowers. Most Dianthus varieties bloom in some variation of red, white, pink and bi-colored combinations. These perennial plants are appropriate for rock gardens and the water-wise border. The flowers are wonderful for perfumed bouquets, blooming in late spring or summer. Dianthus are cold hardy and heat tolerant.
