Description

Davis Showy Milkweed (Asclepias speciosa 'Davis') is a handsome milkweed with large silver-gray foliage and big pink flower heads that bloom in late spring. 'Davis' is a seed grown selection originating in northern CA, making it an excellent choice for Western gardeners. A clumping plant, it stays in place and makes a fine addition to the perennial border. Watch for Monarch caterpillars on the foliage (no spraying) and adults sipping nectar from the flowers. 'Davis' Milkweed makes a fine companion for other native wildflowers like Sundrops (Calylophus), Prairie Phlox (Phlox nana) and Great Basin Sage (Salvia dorrii).
