Description

(6” tall x 8” wide) Alpine Rock Thyme is an Old World native from the mountains of Italy and southern Europe, making it an outstanding rock garden or xeriscape perennial. It thrives in sunny, dry, poor soil conditions. It has large, showy purple flowers that bloom in summer, and attractive small glossy green foliage that grows low-to-the-ground.  It's an excellent nectar source for honeybees. Recommended companion plants include other small growing rock garden plants like Firewitch Dianthus, Bluebells (Campanula) and Greek yarrow (Achillea).
