How do we use your location?
Knowing your location helps us recommend plants that will thrive in your climate, based on your Growing Zone.
Mediterranean Bells (Nectaroscordum siculum) has elegant clusters of cream and wine-colored bell-shaped blooms. Well suited for rock gardens and containers, it naturalizes readily. Hummingbirds appreciate this fragrant plant. Mediterranean Bells are deer resistant and easy to grow in well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. Plant in large clusters for an eye-catching focal point. Allow leaves to die down naturally, so the bulbs can store energy, and Mediterranean bells will come back for many years. Mediterranean Bells make great cut flowers and are a nice companion plant for early summer bloomers.

"These are going to be amazing. So far, it is a favorite in my border garden. I love how tall they've gotten!"
"I love the flowers and how they sit on the top of the stalk. Really fun."
"I only ordered 1 bag of 10 bulbs the first time (2 years ago), divided them into 5 areas to plant together (so 2 bulbs in each hole) and they came up beautifully the next summer. Loved them so much, but wanted to see more of them together, so I ordered more last fall to plant and can't wait to see them all come up again this summer! They are nice and tall and stand out beautifully in the area among my lower growing flowers and ground cover. One thing we've found to be super helpful, here in CT, with rain becoming more and more unpredictable and bordering on drought criteria each year, and us being on a well, we've set up a watering system using a lot of hose lines, lots of timers (as we have many different gardening areas around our property w/ different types of gardens/themes requiring different amount of water) - the area we have these planted in, all the plants need a bit extra water each week. So, I've found that these beauties love their water and perform best when watered for 30min. 1x/week, during the night and if it rains in between watering, they love it even more."
"These bloomed about the same time as bearded Iris, just a little bit after the first allium had gotten started. In our climate, that meant the last third of May. :) As with other allium, they require little care and are very reliable! To my eye they turned out significantly differently from the listing photo. I was expecting that nice contrast between red and white. I have attached a photo of the very best that these allium ever looked. As you can see, they are kind of more of a muddy rose mauve. They were fun to add to the allium ""parade"" in our yard, it just would be helpful to adjust expectations to look for possibly a lot less showy flower than shown. In real life these kind of blend in due to the low contrasting color. They also do not hold their seedhead shape for a long time, unlike the seemingly everlasting ball shaped alliums. They do make an interesting shape though! And they were a good value."
