Why Plant Origanum?
Origanum (Ornamental Oregano) features a unique cascading form and abundant flowers that are highly attractive to bees and butterflies. Its herbal fragrance adds sensory enjoyment for gardeners, and helps discourage deer and rabbits from browsing. Origanum is native to the hills of the Mediterranean countries and western Asia, so it is adaptable to dry, rocky soils. Ornamental Oregano is drought tolerant and grows best in full sun and well-draining soil. Oregano plants will spread over time, and as they mature, they will beautifully spill over the edges of containers, raised beds, and stone walls, or fill out as attractive groundcover layer in the garden.
