"It's way too early to write a review on this plant. I just got it about a week ago and can't speak on; the bloom length of these, if they're cold hardy, if they spread, how long 'short lived' is, or many other important aspects others might want to know…but, I can attest to one thing. I liked the idea of these for the front of a bed where they could be a strong contrast for they neon yellow of the eriogonum umbellatum as a backdrop, but I was a little worried after reading the other reviews. I ordered one plant before that had a lot of reviews like the ones for this plant and got the same thing- a plant with very little roots that couldn't survive the shipping journey and transplant out of the greenhouse. Not the case with these. They didn't look to good when I got them, almost limp, I did some reading though about this plant, and that is simply because that is this plant's growth habit. The stems grow prostrate along the ground and turn up just at the ends where the corolla is produced. The plants looked like the bracts were already formed and just about a week later, all 3 plants are looking happy and have at least one umbel of flowers that have already been attracting bumblebees 🐝. I do expect them to only live a couple seasons at max, since most plants with extremely long flowering seasons are often short lived, but I hope since they are a Wyoming native (rare in the state though and not present in the part I'm at. ) that they will prove to be cold hardy for those few seasons, and that they will regularly reseed. Fingers crossed 🤞"
