In it's second season it is glowing!

"I bought two of these last summer and sadly, one didn't return. However, the remaining plant makes up for it in both it's size and beauty."

Salvia arizonica

"Salvia's seem to be pretty marginally here, so somewhat surprising to see these have been reliably hardy with lows around -25°F. The flower color is great, but the flowers are very small, and there's not many per plant at a time(at least when grown in dry shade). I'd assume small flowers is definitely an adaptation for dry climates, but they really seem to dislike drying out for long periods. Bloom time is relatively long, but overall…meh."

Settling in

"This are hardy little guys!! They spent far too long at the post office and looked awful when they arrived. They have bounced back and I think are going to make it! I wish they were shipped by UPS or FedEx and not USPS. Our USPS is not good."

Doing nicely in almost full shade

"Plants are doing very well in almost full shade, though they do get a little morning sun. Excellent customer service from High Country: one of the plants I ordered died in transit (probably because the post office delayed delivery) and they replaced it promptly."

Great Plant Purchase

"The deep blue Arizona sage is a real winner. I have a hot, dry, shady section in my Denver yard in which numerous plants have failed. These beautiful sages are thriving there and spreading to cover the entire area. I couldn't be happier!"

Now that it has established somewhat it is doing fine.

"These are in my mostly shade garden. They are pretty floppy but they are doing fine. The bloom color is beautiful!"

A tidy and pretty plant

"I expected a wilder-looking plant based on the few website photos, but was pleasantly surprised that it is actually quite tidy. I planted about six of them in May and they've all grown like crazy since then. Lots of tall spires above a bushy mound, and they're just starting to bloom now with cute little purple-blue flowers at the beginning of August. The photo below is the one that's the most impressive, but they're all pretty comparable to that one. I originally bought them to be under a tree; when the tree died I was nervous they would fry in full sun but they're thriving (they do receive water 3x/week via dripline under mulch)! I plan on replacing the tree next year, so we'll see if they do as well in part shade in the future."

I will buy this again

"I ordered 3 Salvia arizonica in February; they arrived in April as scheduled in genius packaging. They've exceeded Mt expectations, growing to 18"" tall in amended clay with barely two hours of dappled sun. Despite our drought in NM, they've bloomed all summer. I will order more for another shady location."

Great for shade and areas where deep are a problem

"I have extensive shade in my garden and have been looking for deer-resistant plants that will thrive in shade and partial shade. I bought three of these plants and all are doing well. Not one nibble from the resident deer."

Yes

"This product arrived in a small pot, which there was no growth. I was very hopeful and after the third week I noticed the plant was sprouting. I am very pleased as I have other plants purchased from local nurseries that are doing very well."
