a good start
"I bought a 3 pack of these last year, they seemed a bit small. They had a little growth last year and are flowering this spring. I put them in some of the toughtest spots in my garden and they do well (as long as it's sunny). I would contrast these with the unnamed golden currant seedlings I bought. They also are surviving but haven't flowered in their 3rd year and seem less vigorous. They are in a shadier spot, but I think the Crandall variety is just a strong one. Also the berries are great tasting (I haven't tasted these exact plants yet, but I have others of the same variety). I've tried Gwen/Buffalo at the nursery and didn't care for the taste."
