How do we use your location?
Knowing your location helps us recommend plants that will thrive in your climate, based on your Growing Zone.
6-8â tall x 12-18â wide. Origanum âBristol Crossâ provides for the cook, the collector, the crafter, and the florist in you! In summer, dark wiry stems are tipped with long green bracts that carry several purple tubular flowers. As the season progresses, this creates a cascading effect thatâs perfect for garden walls or large containers. The stems dry well and work beautifully in flower arrangements or kitchen projects. Plant âBristol Crossâ in dry to average soils. Itâs much better to water this Mediterranean descendant deeply and allow it to slowly dry out before watering again. If the plant is looking untidy in late spring, cut back to encourage new growth and a stronger habit. If growing in containers, ensure that the container is well-draining, and pair with other plants or herbs that prefer slightly drier conditions.
As soon as your order is placed you will receive a confirmation email. You will receive a second email the day your order ships telling you how it has been sent. All perennials and fall-planted bulbs are packaged to withstand shipping and are fully-guaranteed. Please open upon receipt and follow the instructions included.
Perennials and fall-planted bulbs are shipped at the proper planting time for your Growing Zone. Perennial and fall-planted bulb orders will arrive separately from seeds. "Looked dead when received. Planted but did not survive."
"I love this unique oregano. It was a lot more wilted than my other plants - they shipped on a hot day in southern CO! But it recovered nicely in a pot and is almost ready for life in the wild. Totally worth giving it a little extra TLC - it is beautiful! #sweepstakes"
"The bees just love this plant. I bought this originally in the Bee Bonanza ornamental oregano package (3 each of 3 varieties). I planted all three Bristol Cross to finish rounding out a border along my patio. I babied them in their tiny pots last spring, increasing the pot size until I could put them in the ground in July! Risky time of year regardless, but they were big enough and had a good root system. I watered them on a consistent schedule until October when we got some ""atmospheric river"" rain. They have been gorgeous and it's almost December. From time-to-time I cut off a spent stem and the basal layer puts out more. I just ordered 3 more pots! This is a reliable and WOW plant. Don't miss out."
