How do we use your location?
Knowing your location helps us recommend plants that will thrive in your climate, based on your Growing Zone.
As soon as your order is placed you will receive a confirmation email. You will receive a second email the day your order ships telling you how it has been sent. Some perennials are shipped as potted plants, some as perennial roots packed in peat. The ‘Plant Information’ section describes how that item will ship. All perennials and fall-planted bulbs are packaged to withstand shipping and are fully-guaranteed. Please open upon receipt and follow the instructions included.
Perennials and fall-planted bulbs are shipped at the proper planting time for your Growing Zone. Perennial and fall-planted bulb orders will arrive separately from seeds. If your order requires more than one shipment and all items are shipping to the same address, there is no additional shipping charge. See our shipping information page for approximate ship dates and more detailed information. If you have any questions, please call Customer Service at (801) 769-0300 or contact us by email or chat.

"I bought 9 of these in the spring of 2023. They were small but have done extremely well—better than some more mature ones I bought elsewhere and planted at the same time. They bloomed a little in fall of 2024, and have bloomed magnificently this fall of 2025, starting late Sept. The plants are now 24" tall. I am buying many more next spring—they are outstanding as a matrix plant for my whole garden."
"I bought 10 Ruby Muhly grass and planted in September, 2024. They are thriving and the pink plumes are so pretty! One pot was seeded with a different type of grass-but that's ok! It's fun."
"I had planned to use this in my large garden and let it grow to full size, but the rabbits have eaten it, so I am not sure what to do. I should have put a cage around it, which is what I will now do. Perhaps once it grows larger they will be less interested in it or there will be enough to share."
"This grass is beautiful throughout its growing cycle. The way the light shines on the grass makes a wonderful backdrop for photography from July to September, when the grass heads suddenly come out pink. This grass is charming and it stays where you put it."
"hasn't grown but is stable. it's only been 2 wks since planting. fingers crossed."
"I planted several High Country Gardner products in a rock area adjacent to my driveway. It is typically hot in the summer, cold in the winter and not a lot of water. They are thriving in a bit of a hostile environment. So far… so good!"
"I used them in several areas in the garden in front of taller perennial flowers."
"The plants have stayed alive but growth is slow. Some have grown much better than others, depending on location, with potted ones doing the best. Am looking forward to seeing the full pink display."
"2 out of the 9 I ordered came heavily contaminated with weeds. A third had some weed growth, but I was able to pick them out. The rest appeared healthy and ready to get into the ground. Just sort of disappointed in the weed-y ones."
"Planted expensive seeds in individual containers in spring 2021germinated well and quickly grew to three mounds of green grass the size of a softball, yellowed in fall. Transplanted to permanent garden sites. Survived northern Michigan winter and grew next season to mounds slightly larger, still no color change like pictures. Third growing season produced slightly larger mounds yet NO signs yet of ruby color, just light green then yellow in fall. This spring the grass mounds are again showing signs of life, but expectations that mounds of attractive Ruby Muhly will finally appear in 2024 are nil. Just how ""mature"" are the clumps of beautiful muhly grass pictured in catalogs and websites?"
