How do we use your location?
Knowing your location helps us recommend plants that will thrive in your climate, based on your Growing Zone.
(12-24" tall x 12-24" wide) 'VisionĀ® Violet' Cranesbill is an excellent choice for low maintenance, ground covering color, and form. The purple cup-shaped flowers nod above finely cut deep green foliage from late spring to early summer. Tidy mounds of foliage about 12 inches tall make a lovely border and fill-in for a perennial bed. Nice in containers, they are also beautiful with ornamental grasses. Foliage may be lightly sheared back after flowering to revitalize the plant, but itās not necessary. A hardy perennial (zones 4-9), it is both heat and cold tolerant. Plant 'Vision Violet' in average to compost-enriched well-drained soil in a full sun to full shade location. It prefers average watering. Deer and rabbit resistant, bees, and butterflies love the flowers. Over time it will gently naturalize to form low mounding tidy masses.
As soon as your order is placed you will receive a confirmation email. You will receive a second email the day your order ships telling you how it has been sent. "I love these geraniums They were planted in the fall and are doing well. We have some of these in another area in our yard, and I'd been looking for some for the perennial garden for a while. I was happy to find them at High Country Gardens! They come back year after year with very little care and blossom every spring. They're a great plant. I've also bought soapwort plants from High Country Gardens the year before. They were small when they arrived, and I feared they wouldn't make through our New England winters, but they are doing very well, Blossoming and spreading this spring. Both of these plants are doing great, and I hope to buy more."
"Used to fill in flower garden. Comes back every year."
"All plants survived and thrived in different areas. Best on edges as front border since they are are spreaders and grow low."
"I ordered a pair of these to help fill in a blank spot around some purple sage bushes and, after a month in the ground, they are starting to expand out and thrive. They arrived healthy and in great condition and the timing with the zone (8b in my case) for shipment was perfect. I'm looking forward to seeing them bloom later in the season! #sweepstakes"
"I like this in my borders. The blooms come at the same time as Stella D'Oro daylilies. The foliage is beautiful year-round."
"I was looking forward to using this plant to fill in some blank areas in my hot sunny dry border. The plants arrived strong and healthy and began blooming right away. But. The rabbits are going to eat it all :( I will replace these plants with lavender, which the rampaging rabbits shun. I would recommend this to a friend who does not have rabbits in the yard. Unfortunately, I seem to live in optimal rabbit habitat."
"I ordered three of these plants and they have grown nicely. The blooms are a bit more sparse than I had hoped for, but they have bloomed off and on throughout this first summer. The plants have spread and appear to be healthy. Overall, I'm happy with the choice."
"These arrived relatively large and full for a HCG mail order, they flowered (a bit) within a couple weeks of early May planting (in part sun part shade) and they have grown fuller in just a couple months. I have seen geranium groundcovers around Denver and am hopeful these will thrive in coming years."
"These plants were so healthy when they arrived. We planted them and they are already blooming! No regrets, and this was our first time ordering from High Country Gardens. Love my new Vision Violets!"
