How do we use your location?
Knowing your location helps us recommend plants that will thrive in your climate, based on your Growing Zone.
As soon as your order is placed you will receive a confirmation email. You will receive a second email the day your order ships telling you how it has been sent. Some perennials are shipped as potted plants, some as perennial roots packed in peat. The ‘Plant Information’ section describes how that item will ship. All perennials and fall-planted bulbs are packaged to withstand shipping and are fully-guaranteed. Please open upon receipt and follow the instructions included.
Perennials and fall-planted bulbs are shipped at the proper planting time for your Growing Zone. Perennial and fall-planted bulb orders will arrive separately from seeds. If your order requires more than one shipment and all items are shipping to the same address, there is no additional shipping charge. See our shipping information page for approximate ship dates and more detailed information. If you have any questions, please call Customer Service at (801) 769-0300 or contact us by email or chat.

"I ordered 10 New Mexico Privets last fall to plant along a long high coyote fence with a fair amount of shade. All ten little guys survived the winter and are looking good. I even accidentally stepped on a few doing fall and winter clean up and they were not bothered in the least. Can't remember if they were regular or Happy Boy variety but feel confident recommending both."
"I live in an arid environment out west. This tree is thriving and provide screening from neighbors and sun."
"The backdrop of my garden is an evergreen screen, and this plant offers a beautiful contrast in color in spring and fall. Always one of the first trees to leaf out - the spring green color is a thrill to see. Seven feet tall in spring of year five. Rabbits don't eat it, but they hang out in its shade."
"We planted along our property line where it can also serve as a living wall when larger."
"I really like this shrub with its grey-white bark and yellow leaves in the fall. BUT, it takes a LOT of constant attention to keep it trimmed to look like a multi-stemmed tree as it is pictured. I worked at that for 3 years and finally let it have its way and by late summer it had filled itself in."
"This is the second growing season for my three New Mexico Privets and all plants are branching nicely and about three to four foot tall. Yes, they were tiny, tiny when they arrived. I give them credit for surviving many 100+ degree days (108 one day). Anticipating next growing season they will start. to become full fledged trees and begin to provide some privacy. The birds cannot wait!"
"I am glad to have added this plant to my collection. The stem color is light and attractive. I planted two of these to see which planting location they liked best and part shade is the winner. The plants do well in spring but don't much like our intense summer sunshine and tend to crisp a bit on the leaf tips. We have had an extremely dry spring/summer thus far (no rain since Feb) and they are still maintaining turgor. I hope they make it through our upcoming three months of 100s. It is 108 degrees today. I am satisfied with their strength thus far."
"potted up to 1 gallon container and its doing very well. very robust. will plant out in garden in fall. great looking foliage."
"Survived one winter in VT and did well this past summer. I'm looking forward to see just how much it takes off next summer. Have it planted near a bunch of Berry Girls which are also doing well. Seems like the Happy boy may be a slightly faster grower, not a huge difference but seems like a bit."
"It is a cute little thing in my front xeric yard. Emphasis on little, it is growing but is only about 10"" into the 2nd year. Granted we had a late snow and 3 hailstorms followed by almost no rain, so I am giving it credit for survival. I will have to prune some of the extra trunks back as I want a tree rather than a hedge"
