Artemisia frigida (Prairie Sagebrush) is a lovely Western native enjoyed for its soft, fragrant silver foliage and low-growing habit. Tufted, silky foliage grows from tough, woody crowns, and tiny yellow flowers bloom subtly in summer. It is an excellent groundcover and complements a soothing silvery color palette. A tough perennial that grows well in dry, well-drained soil.

So very tiny but healthy.

"So very tiny but healthy. If grows into a real size plant I will be happy and purchase more. If not. . no more tiny plants for me."

In good shape when arrived

"In good shape when arrived & growing nicely since planted."

Healthy, tough little plants

"These have thrived in my poor soil. Pretty greenery against the DCG dirt."

So far, so good

"An opportunity to win ""#sweepstakes"" would be the ""icing on the cake"". After buying plants for years with successes or not, I am delighted to find High Country Gardens. The plants are ready to grow when they arrive with instructions to follow. After a few weeks of not the best spring weather in central Virginia, all of the plants(4) ordered are sending out new growth without hesitation. But best of all, we are all in this together and the mind set of High Country Gardens matches mine. Again, thank you."

Fall planting

"Planted in fall and have come in beautifully! Excellent plant!"

Was skeptical, but. . .

"I bought 2 of these last fall. I was surprised how small they were. I was sure they'd die during our Colorado winter. I was eager to see if they were still here after the snow melted. Both survived. One is still small, but is alive and starting to grow. The other is already 10"" across and thriving. Really pretty silvery plant. Excited to see it once it's more upright. The one that is thriving is planted in my rock garden. The other is on the edge of my lawn. I think it likes the warm ground under the rocks. Probably thrive in rocky xeriscaping."

I would use more of this Sage

"Naturalize in xeriscape garden."

Interesting plant, very fragrant when touched

"Similar comments from my Powis Castle review as far as purpose, soil, etc. These plants have the exact scent I was looking for to represent Wyoming plains after a rain shower. Although not much in stature, these are densely covering the container's soil surface and just now have sent up a flower stalk. Birds do snip off a bit of these from time to time."
