Great in shady yard

"These do great in our shady yard. They bloom early and the hummingbirds love them. If I deadhead regularly, they bloom multiple times during the spring and summer"

Beautiful Little Columbine

"This plant is doing very well here in Oklahoma City but I've placed it where it gets some hot afternoon sun and is a bit drier spot and it is thriving. It does get some water when I run the sprinklers. It stays true to its described size even in our wetter climate. Dainty but tough little plant! I love it and highly recommend."

Growing beautifully in humid Kentucky

"Contrary to its ""Western only"" rating here, this plant has thrived in my hot and humid Kentucky garden. I have heavy clay soil but mine are on slopes which may help drainage. It does best for me in bright shade but performs in full sun as well. It usually blooms just after vulgaris. I crossed this plant with a lively violet A. vulgaris with fantastic results. I think this plant will prove easier and hardier than assumed as it is more widely grown. It fills a nice gap in the garden because of its bloom time (sometimes through June) and shorter stature than the more common A. canadensis."

Aquilegia desertorum

"This plant is being used in my Hosta bed and I simply cannot wait to see what happens this spring when everything wakes up. To me this is the perfect little plant to ""pop"" a tiny color in the mist of a green ocean."
